TLC'S: The Sisterhood
This show is based on First Ladies of Pastors in the Christian Community.
On the opening episodes Facebook, twitter, and most social networks were trying to get this show off of the air because they felt like it was a poor interpretation of what, who, and how First Ladies are in the church.
I honestly had reservations about it but after watching it, it wasn't as bad as everyone was portraying it to be. However, after just getting caught up on last night episode that I missed I was a tad bit disappointed.
These are my thoughts:
Let me say that even though Tara has her annoying ways she does not stray away from the Word of God and she represents him well. Ivy & Christina represented well on this episode too. At first I had some feelings about those two but they actually took a stand this week. DeLana is the only one they don't show hardly at all and that's because I think she actually thought the show would be different than what it is and I honestly don't blame her for not coming around. I wish she was in more scenes because I really like her.
Dominique has disappointed me in the WORSE way! She needs true Deliverance.... This show was something she should not have signed up for. I feel like her testimony could help so many people and God could really use her. Maybe this show was her way of crying out for help?... However, I would like to see this show turn into something positive and if it doesn't it really doesn't need another season. I will keep watching to see where it goes!
If you are watching it, what are your takes on it?
Hi visiting from the blog hop. I must say that I lost track of the show, but I know some first ladies that fit in each one of those characters. I like the couple episodes that I did see, gotta catch up again. Love your blog and I am your new follower from fitandbeyond.com

Hello Margaret.... Thanks for following! I don't know if you'll like the newer episodes...lol... Let me know what you think about the ones you watch
DeleteI've watched the show before and it was interesting. Parts of it disappointed me but most of it was just how I expected. :)
ReplyDeleteExactly! It's so sad.... Honestly, I thought it would've been different but you're right. Its no different than watching housewives
DeleteI have watched sporadically and for the most part I find it no different than any other show. I would like to see a better portrayal of women of God. This show would not save a lost soul and I think that should've been the purpose
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you!
DeleteIf there is no good turn a round, then it does not need a second season. I feel like I'm watching Real Housewives sometimes. I think Tara and DeLana are the only ones who really try to represent Christ in the right way.
This show should definitely be our way of reaching the world but its not.
Ooh, I tried, but I can't do it!! I am not sure why since I am all up in RHOA?? I am with Mimi, hey girl, you are right about the content. When do we separate and elevate the conversation?
ReplyDeleteIt's crazy you said that you're not sure why you watch it because you watch RHOA because I watch it for that reason...lol... I was thinking that since I watch some reality tv that I could give it a shot because its regarding Christian women but It really is no different except they mention Jesus a lot and so on.
ReplyDeleteI doubt it will get a second season....
